Zepbound Weight Loss Calculator

Compare published 72-week Zepbound study averages with your starting weight. Add a goal and timeframe to see the weekly pace that goal would require. Neither number predicts your treatment result.

Zepbound 72-week study-average weight change

Explore a 72-week trial average

i

Choose pounds or kilograms. Enter both weights in the same unit.

i

Enter the weight you want to use as the starting point. The trial percentage is applied to this number to illustrate a study-group average, not your expected result.

lb
i

The U.S. Zepbound label reports 72-week averages for Study 1's 5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg groups. It does not report matching 72-week arms for 2.5, 7.5 or 12.5 mg. This is not a dose selector.

i

If you have a personal goal, enter it in the same unit as your starting weight. We show the percentage change that goal represents, not whether treatment will achieve it.

lb
i

Choose how many months you want to allow for your goal. With a goal weight, the calculator divides the weight difference by this many weeks to show a required average weekly pace. This is not a prediction.

i

Choose the description closest to your current routine. It is shown for context only. The published trial does not provide a reliable adjustment to the weight-loss averages for these activity levels.

STUDY-GROUP AVERAGE AT WEEK 72

Enter your starting weight to see what a published 72-week trial-group average would mean at that weight.

Important: Study averages do not predict an individual's result. The study population, treatment duration and dose schedule may differ from yours. Do not change your dose or set a treatment goal from this calculation. Discuss your own progress with your clinician.

A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How the Zepbound Weight Loss Calculator works

It separates published trial averages from your own goal arithmetic. It cannot estimate your individual response.

  1. Enter a starting weight

Choose lb or kg and enter the weight from which to compare a percentage change.

  2. Choose a Study 1 group

Compare the published 5 mg, 10 mg or 15 mg group. These are trial groups, not a recommendation for your dose.

  3. Read the 72-week average

The tool multiplies your entered weight by the group mean percentage at week 72 and shows the corresponding reference weight.

  4. Set months and activity context

If you add a goal, the selected months determine the constant weekly pace needed to reach it. Activity level is shown for context and never changes the trial average.

Average Zepbound weight loss at 72 weeks in Study 1

The U.S. Zepbound prescribing information, Table 2, reports the mean body-weight changes below. Study 1 enrolled adults with obesity, or overweight plus a weight-related condition; people with type 2 diabetes were excluded. All groups also received guidance on reduced-calorie eating and increased physical activity. The results are group averages, not guarantees for any individual.

Study 1 mean body-weight change at week 72
Study groupMean change at week 72
Zepbound 5 mg15.0% loss
Zepbound 10 mg19.5% loss
Zepbound 15 mg20.9% loss
Placebo3.1% loss

These percentages are not a month-by-month curve. The label does not provide a comparable 72-week Study 1 arm for 2.5 mg, 7.5 mg or 12.5 mg, so this calculator does not invent results for those strengths.

Weight loss and weekly pace formulas

Illustrative study-average loss = entered starting weight × Study 1 mean loss percentage ÷ 100. Subtract that loss from the starting weight for the illustrative week-72 reference weight. For a hypothetical 200 lb starting weight, the 10 mg group's 19.5% average corresponds to 39 lb and a reference weight of 161 lb. This is only the math behind a population average, not a prediction that a 200 lb person will reach 161 lb.

If you enter a goal, its required change is (starting weight − goal weight) ÷ starting weight × 100. The weekly pace to a goal is (starting weight − goal weight) ÷ (selected months × 365.2425 ÷ 12 ÷ 7). For example, going from 200 lb to 160 lb over 12 months is about 0.77 lb per week. This is constant-pace arithmetic, not an observed Zepbound treatment curve or a recommended target. The separate 72-week pace is simply the illustrative study-average loss divided by 72.

Why this is not a personal weight loss forecast

A single trial endpoint cannot tell you how much you will lose in one month, how quickly weight will change, or what a specific dose will do for you. The study paired treatment with reduced-calorie diet guidance and increased-activity counseling, but it did not report separate results for this tool's activity choices. Activity therefore does not modify any number. Results vary, and the trial's population, 72-week duration, lifestyle program and dose escalation may differ from your care. Use your own logged weights and speak with your clinician about progress or treatment decisions. This calculator does not give medical advice.

Zepbound Weight Loss Calculator FAQs

How does this Zepbound weight loss calculator work?

Enter a starting weight and choose one of the 5 mg, 10 mg or 15 mg Study 1 groups. The calculator multiplies your entered weight by that group’s published mean percentage change at week 72. The result illustrates a trial average; it cannot predict your personal weight loss.

How much weight did people lose on Zepbound in clinical trials?

In Study 1 of the U.S. prescribing information, mean weight change at week 72 was 15.0% with the 5 mg group, 19.5% with the 10 mg group and 20.9% with the 15 mg group. The study included adults with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes and paired treatment with a reduced-calorie diet and increased activity. Individual outcomes varied.

How many pounds is 15% weight loss from 200 pounds?

Fifteen percent of 200 pounds is 30 pounds, leaving an illustrative weight of 170 pounds. That is only arithmetic. The Zepbound 5 mg group averaged 15.0% loss at week 72 in Study 1, but that does not mean a person starting at 200 pounds will lose 30 pounds.

What percentage weight loss does my goal weight require?

Subtract your goal weight from your starting weight, divide by your starting weight, then multiply by 100. For example, moving from 200 pounds to 160 pounds represents a 20% change. This calculator can show that percentage without judging whether the goal is appropriate.

Can this calculator estimate Zepbound weight loss after one or six months?

No. Its treatment comparison uses 72-week Study 1 endpoints, not measured one- or six-month values. The month selector only calculates the weekly pace needed to move from your starting weight to an optional goal. It does not forecast treatment response.

How does the Zepbound weekly weight loss pace calculation work?

For an optional goal, subtract goal weight from starting weight and divide by the selected number of months converted to weeks, using about 4.35 weeks per month. This is the constant average pace required by that goal, not a rate observed in the trial or a medically recommended target.

Does activity level change the Zepbound weight loss estimate?

No. Study 1 included reduced-calorie diet guidance and physical activity counseling, but the prescribing information does not provide separate 72-week weight-loss averages for this calculator’s activity choices. The selected level is context only and does not alter the trial comparison or goal arithmetic.

Why are 2.5 mg, 7.5 mg and 12.5 mg not in the study-group selector?

The U.S. Zepbound label reports the Study 1 week-72 mean changes for 5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg arms. It does not give equivalent 72-week endpoint arms for 2.5 mg, 7.5 mg or 12.5 mg. This tool does not infer averages for them.

Does a higher Zepbound dose guarantee more weight loss?

No. Group averages differed in the clinical study, but they cannot determine an individual response or justify changing medication. Dose decisions belong to your prescriber, who must consider the full prescribing information and your circumstances.

Can GLP Buddy track actual Zepbound weight loss?

Yes. GLP Buddy can record Zepbound injections and weight entries so you can review your own trend. The app record is separate from this trial-average arithmetic and is not a medical assessment.
